Rob Carter

Dr. Rob Carter

Creation Ministries International, Marine Biologist

Dr Carter was converted to Christ at an early age, but did not know what to do with the theory of evolution. He always knew what he wanted to believe, but had no way to express what he was thinking and no evidence to support his views. In his freshman year of college, he was exposed to the information for creation for the first time and soon after adopted it as his modus operandi. He says he felt a tremendous joy when he realized his science and his religion were no longer at odds. This joy (and, he says, Creation magazine and the Journal of Creation) enabled him to get through the in-depth evolutionary training of his undergraduate and graduate programs with his faith intact.

He obtained a BS in Applied Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. He then spent four years teaching high school biology, chemistry, physics and electronics before going to the University of Miami to obtain his PhD in Marine Biology. He successfully completed this program in 2003 with a dissertation on “Cnidarian Fluorescent Proteins.” While in Miami, he studied the genetics of pigmentation in corals and other invertebrates, designed and built an aquaculture facility for Caribbean corals, performed well over 500 SCUBA dives, many of them at night, and licensed a spin-off product of his research (a patent-pending fluorescent protein) to a biotech company.

He is currently a senior scientist and speaker for CMI-USA in Atlanta, Georgia, where he lives with his wife, Leanne, and children and is currently researching human genetics and other issues related to biblical creation.

Dr. Vincent Friedewald, M.D.

Adjunct Sen. Research Prof., U. of Notre Dame, Indiana U. School of Medicine

Before moving to Austin to head TPCN, Vince practiced law in Houston, where he specialized in employment litigation and transactions for a major

Texas law firm. Earlier, Vince was a professional medical writer, writing continuing medical education programs on behalf of physician experts from

prestigious institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Columbia University, and the National Institutes of Public Health. Leaving the law firm to lead TPCN was a logical step professionally for Vince

based on both his legal and medical background.

Leaving the law firm to lead TPCN was a logical step professionally for Vince based on both his legal and medical background. Before joining TPCN, Vince researched why so many women work to provide alternatives, and why so many seek them out. He was surprised to learn how many women choose abortion not with a free and informed conscience, but rather because of isolation, self-imposed pressure, or outright coercion by family, spouses, or boyfriends. He was convinced that countless women were suffering through a decision they never really wanted to make—nor wouldn't have to—if just one other person were available to listen, support, protect, and educate.

Vince thus joined TPCN with the knowledge that helping build a network of compassionate providers that respond to the needs of pregnant women is

not only a decent endeavor, but also a necessary one. Today, Vince leads TPCN with three primary goals. First, improve the reach and quality of abortion alternatives throughout Texas, so that no woman chooses abortion because she is alone or under pressure. Second, maintain the State of Texas' trust in TPCN as a responsible steward of public funds. Third, educate the public that support for abortion alternatives is progressive and compassionate, requiring no allegiance or opposition to Roe v. Wade, but instead only to serving the needs of women and their families.

William Gairdner

Dr. William Gairdner

William Gairdner received his Ph.D. in Literature and Philosophy from Stanford University in 1970, and on the way to that achievement he participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, and also in two Commonwealth Games, in Track and field. He then became a Professor of English Literature at York University for a few years, but didn’t care for the left-wing political climate there, or the salary. So he left with the idea that he would buy a failing business for a dollar to see if he could turn it around and make a little money, because what he wanted most of all was to be a writer, and that meant he needed money, because writers seldom live on writing alone. Fifteen years later, after significant business struggles and a near bankruptcy, his business was quite a success story, and so he sold it to fulfill his lifelong dream.

As it happened - and after a half dozen rejections from publishers - his first book, The Trouble With Canada appeared and almost immediately became #1 in Canada. Then came The War Against The Family, and with that, Bill says he became a lightning rod for the left! But that didn’t stop him. He then became the managing editor of Canada’s Founding Debates - a landmark historical book - and his most recent efforts are Oh, Oh, Canada: A Voice From the Conservative Resistance, and just last month, The Book of Absolutes: A Critique of Relativism, and a Defence of Universals. Along the way,Bill was the founder and first President of Civitas, a national society he created in order to bring Canadian conservative thinkers together, and he says he is pleased to say that half the major players in Ottawa today are Civitas members, including the Prime Minister.

Stanley Monteith

Dr. Stanley Monteith

Host and Founder, Radio Liberty, Author

For over a decade, prior to his retirement, Dr. Monteith led a delegation of physicians from Santa Cruz County to the House of Delegates of the California Medical Association. For 10 years he led the battle within organized medicine in California to address the AIDS epidemic as a medical issue rather than a civil rights issue. As a result of his experiences trying to implement an effective medical approach to the HIV epidemic, he wrote the book, "AIDS:The Unnecessary Epidemic", the widely circulated pamphlet, "To Deceive a Nation", and more recently, "A Nation Deceived and Betrayed." Supported by physicians across our nation, his public health approach to the HIV epidemic was eventually accepted by the California Medical Association. Unfortunately, powerful forces continue to oppose the dictates of doctors. Dr Monteith currently spends five hours daily on talk radio in California. He writes extensively, and lectures on geopolitics. He has spent 30 years researching the causes for America's spiritual and moral decline.

Calvin Smith

Calvin Smith

Speaker, Creation Ministries International

Calvin’s interest in creation ministry, particularly as a speaker, arose primarily because of seeing its effectiveness in strengthening the faith and evangelistic efforts of those exposed to the truth of God’s Word through this type of work. Calvin was formerly on the pastoral staff of a church in Guelph, ON, overseeing the youth and small group ministries. Through working with young people, both inside the church and with a small group at the University of Guelph, Calvin personally witnessed the devastation brought to our youth by the teaching of evolutionary rationalism. But he also saw the life-transforming effect of biblical answers that encourage people to know that God’s Word can be trusted from the very first verse. Calvin has spoken on creation topics since 2001 at youth groups, Christian schools, churches and small groups. He has also appeared on the CTS live call-in television program ‘Nite Lite Live’ several times, speaking about the creation/evolution issue. He also co-hosts CMI’s TV show Creation Magazine Live! Through lots of reading, Calvin has become well equipped to talk about many aspects of science and history that relate to the creation/evolution controversy. He has consistently immersed himself in creation apologetics through seminars, classes, scientific papers and hands-on opportunities to study.

Angelina’s journey of healing, forgiveness and reconciliation many years after having had an abortion at the age of 15, led her into post-abortion ministry.  Her background in Social Services as well as her own personal knowledge and experience of abortion and its after-effects, prepared her for providing one-on-one ministry as well as bringing a message of hope and healing to the general public.
